2018 Summer Project

A Tale of Beatrix Potter.

Great show - well done everyone.

Borders Youth Theatre has a reputation for high quality work and this year was no exception.
Great performances at three of the Border's most beautiful Historic estates, Paxton House, Traquair and The Haining in Slekirk, with Borders Youth Theatre revisiting 4 of the classic tales by Beatrix Potter, in A Tale of Beatrix Potter.
The talented company of 42 young theatre makers were directed by founder member of BYT and well know youth theatre director, John Haswell, who also wrote the play, ably assisted by home grown performer, director and drama leader Oli Bisset.
Rehearsals were held Langlee Community Centre in Galashiels, and we were hugely grateful to the wonderful staff there who made us so welcome - a great place.

Did you know that you might be able to get help with fees.  We try to make our activities available to everyone and will help if we can.  Just click this link to find out more.

If you pay fees by bank order please can you write to your bank giving them the new bank details for BYT as follows….

BYT has been delivering great work for 28 years - amazing.

In that time, we have had to raise over  ONE MILLION POUNDS!!!!

Some of that, 30 - 40%, has come from fees but the rest has to be found from trusts, funding bodies and local fund-raising - coffee mornings, bake sales etc.  Funding is becoming harder and harder to find.

Volunteer Trustees try very hard but they can't do it alone - we need everyone, including YOU, to lend a hand by helping raise funds.

It doesn't have to be cash - you could help with printing or storage or transport - or, better still, become a Trustee.

To find out more, just call 0777 3977 567 or mail [email protected]

Fund-raising news

BYT works hard to try to find funding from all sorts of sources. The local fund-raising which you do can help a great deal. Thank you to all of you who make the effort to give something back.

The recent Quiz Night (thanks Quins of Galashiels) raised £245.

We are also hugely grateful to Kelso Art Group who nominated us as their chosen charity at their recent exhibition. From donations and 20% of sales, we received £376.

With some quiz sales and donations, the total added to fund is around £650.

Well done everyone, especially those in and around Kelso.

(Anyone fancy organising some fund-raising in other areas?)

if anyone wants to raise money or make donations to BYT please, please, do. Eula can bank any money you raise or you can pay it in at any RBS using the account details available on your current enrolment form - just make sure you let us know, so we know where the money is from on our bank statement. Or send in a bank transfer using the same bank details, just add your name and mark as a donation, again so we know where it's come from. Thank you. Happy fundraising. XXX

Remember, you can also raise money for BYT every time you buy things on-line - just click here -

You can buy whatever you want as usual but BYT gets money everytime you shop.

You donate without paying a penny!
